The thematic orientation of the project seeks the directions of reciprocity between the two peoples and the two cultures, raises many questions about mutual communication, the complex intertwining and interactions to which the two humanitarian communities in Bulgaria and Russia seek answers. In 2011 in Sofia was held a Bulgarian-Russian conference on the project entitled Bulgaria and Russia (18th - 21st Centuries) - Roads and Crossroads, which was attended by scholars from the BAS and the RAS, as well as by researchers from various Bulgarian universities. A collection of studies was prepared, edited and published in Sofia.
