Senior Asst. Prof. Regina Koycheva, PhD

Regina Koycheva develops the interdisciplinary field between Palaeoslavic studies and theory of literature. Her main research subject is the original Old Bulgarian hymnography from the 9th and the beginning of the 10th century, on which she has published researches with theoretical, literary-historical and linguistic profile. Together with Prof. D.Sc. Anissava Miltenova she compiled and edited the miscellany entitled “Death and Funeral in the Jewish-Christian Tradition” (Studia Mediaevalia Slavica et Byzantina, vol. 1). She graduated with a degree in Bulgarian Philology at “St. Clement of Ohrid” Sofia University. Her doctoral dissertation on “Heirmoi and Verbal Structures in the Lenten Canons by Constantine of Preslav” with supervisor Prof. D.Sc. Georgi Popov was defended in 2005.
